About Us

The Clay County Historical Society was founded in 1972 with the purpose to bring together those people interested in history, and the history of Clay County, Kansas. Our major goal is to discover and collect any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the area.

What We Do

Preserve County History

We collect and preserve artifacts and stories from around the county. We strive to share as much of the history we preserve with the public as possible.

Genealogy Research

With plenty of resources to choose from, we can do genealogy research by request or you can come by and do the research yourself with our help.

Research

We can do research on local towns, buildings, festivals, churches, schools, etc.
